This is my first book by Molly McAdams and let me just tell you that I've found a new fav writer.

Rachel Masters is not your typical girl-next-door college hottie. She's nothing like her best friend/ roommate, Candice, who cannot keep track of all her nightly "hook-ups". Things change for Rachel when Candice's cousin and Rachel's childhood crush also move to Texas and gets a job at the university. The tables have turned and now its Blake who is crushing on Rachel. Eventually Rachel gives in to Blake and agrees to go on a date. But the horribly awkward date turns into another tragic horrifying day for Rachel and now she can't stand the sight of him any longer.

Logan "Kash" Ryan is an undercover narcotics cop and sexy as hell with his tatts and lip ring. When a hit is put out on Kash and his partner, Mason, they are moved from Florida to Texas to assist with a murder case and to keep them safe until the thugs that put the hit on them are behind bars. Kash does not mix business and pleasure and never gets involved with anyone while he is working undercover on a case... until he meets Rachel.

Rachel is not great at first impressions and she makes it known that she wants nothing to go with Kash's sarcasm. But Kash quickly realizes she is putting up walls to keep from getting hurt..again and he makes it his mission to tear them down all the while trying to keep her in the dark about his true identity.

This book had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning with all its twist and turns. The connection between Kash and Rachel is epic and I was rooting for them the entire time. Over the duration of the summer their relationship blossoms to a swoon worthy romance but they are both keeping secrets which may destroy their relationship altogether.

 

Rachel Master, I promise to love you and take care of you... no matter the cost, every day for the rest of my life.
